Rwenzori New Day Christian Church

Hello brothers in Christ,
we are privileged to bring to you our report for the year 2010. Rwenzori New Day Christian Church started on January 2007, founded by Pastor Nzwende Thembo Enostus with a group of other fellows. The reason this church began was to deliver people from sin and unite them to Jesus Christ. This followed a period of instability in our society. Thieves would destroy people’s lives, witch doctors were involved in human sacrifice and domestic violence is a few examples. Based on this unstable society, we thought of building a society united to Christ which would practice peace. We thank God who enabled us to join the New Day Christian Ministry in February 2009.

LOCATION
Rwenzori New Day Christian Church is located in the western part of Uganda, Kasese District, Kisinga Sub-County, Kagando Village. Kagando is a rural area and most people are peasants who depend on crop harvests and small retail businesses. Because of this the community is not economically stable. The area does have a hospital and some of the people we serve are sick people with different health problems.

MINISTRY ACTIVITES
We have established four churches and eight life groups within the district.
Currently our major activity is to preach the gospel to the lost soul and help them grow spiritually. We are also introducing Poverty Eradication Programs such as village saving groups where people are trying to save on the little they get. Also we started Education Programs where we are trying to encourage the community to take their young ones to schools.

GOALS SET FOR THE YEAR 2011
To build temporary churches to boost our ministry of preaching the word of God.
To establish a bible college which will help us train church leaders and strengthen the ministry by creating more disciples.
To increase our Education Programs, we hope to build our Education Centre for orphans and other vulnerable children.
Extend our ministry to other parts of the District.

CHALLENGES
We have faced several challenges in 2010 like worshipping outdoors. Since we worship under trees, this has reduced our attendance to small numbers for fear of heavy rainfall and direct sunshine.
Our branches have a challenge of few Bibles due to the people in our community being sick and poor and cannot afford to buy Bibles.
Communication and transportation to reach our distant areas of operation have been a challenge due to our unstable economy.

PRAYER CONCERNS
Our prayer request for 2011, we pray to God to enable us build temporary churches and having musical instruments to boost our praise and worship.
We pray to God to bless our Christian members as they look forward to buy Bibles and overcome this big challenge in our church.
