Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it is my pleasure to introduce you to New Day Christian Ministry Pakistan (Lahore Branch). Our branch was launched on December 15th 2009. In 2008 I received a vision from my Lord to serve and witness him among the Orphans, the Gypsies, Hindus and the people working at brick companies. Having received this vision I put everything in prayer and started waiting for the right time to start this work. So, as it is said, ‘God has His own time for everything.’ Praise is to God that at the end of last year He paved the way to start this ministry and we are so pleased and thankful to Him for His mercy and grace upon us.
New Day Ministry Pakistan Lahore Branch Report December 2009
All praises be to God for His wonderful plans and works.
We are thankful to our Almighty God who gave us a vision for the needy and the deserving people. We started our ministry on 15th Dec 2009 and right after launching our ministry we started the action. What we did in the short period we are sharing with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
On 18th December 2009 we held a Christmas Program in which we distributed shoes and new clothes among the orphan boys and girls. We also distributed new shoes and new clothes among the widows. In this way we shared God’s love for them. In this Program 10 orphan girls and 14 orphan boys were given Christmas gifts. Besides this 12 widows were given gifts. In the same Program 150 children were given Bibles, Audio and Video Cassettes and CDs were distributed along with Christian literature.
From 1st Jan, 2010 we have started a class for the 24 orphan children mentioned above. We intend to provide each and everything for these children by the grace of God.
Aim and Objectives: That every Orphan Child will know that Jesus loves them and cares for their needs.
1.According to the vision we intend to work among the orphans. We want to provide shelter for the orphans. We want to build a hostel where the orphans could be accommodated and there we could arrange for their bread and butter, education, Christian teaching, clothing and many more provisions. We feel that these orphans are just like precious pearls scattered here and there, and we want to collect and shape these priceless jewels.
2.We are also reaching out to the Gypsies. We want to reach them and win them for eternity. Of course this is really a challenging job because the gypsies are the people who give the professional beggars to the society. We want to teach them in the light of the Bible that we need the bag from God instead of people. It is also in our plan to educate them because it is the only way to get them out of ignorance and darkness.
3.God has given us a vision to go to the Hindus. There are different sects in Hindus. One of them is “Baal Meeki” who worships god and goddesses. We want to teach them in the light of the Bible that god can not do anything for you. We want to mold them to worship one true God who is Jehovah.
4.According to the given vision our next goal is to reach the children and the adults who make bricks. These brick-making children and adults, especially the teenagers, are abused by their owners and due to poverty they cannot do anything against this cruelty. Our plan is to provide them adult basic education by setting up Adult Education Centers at their working places and “Brick Colonies” so that they can be enabled for other works. At these centers we would provide them a Christian education so that they could know Christ and grow in Christ.
"People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." (Luke: 18: 15-17)
Prayer is also requested for ‘Stephens Shaheed Foundation(reg) Pakistan.’ This work began 3 years ago among the persecuted peoples in Pakistan and included Hindus, Gypsies, converted Muslim and Eunuchs. We worked through sharing the word of God, providing prayer and financial assistance and counseling with them. So far 150 Hindu-families have embraced Christianity. 80 families from Gypsies have come to Christ and 2% of Eunuchs have been converted. 6 Muslim families have accepted Christ. SSF’s current running projects are:
1. New Persecuted Bible Baptist College
2. Free Medical Camp
3. Sunday School
Praise God for His wonderful and great work. Remember this ministry in your prayers.
In Christ, Pastor Rafique Bhatti and his pastoral team
